Vacation Take 2 - the Longmeadows

Having taken in quite enough sunshine and sea water we moved westward to East Longmeadow for an extended stay with Mimi and Papi.

Sadie has Mimi wrapped around her little finger.

We all took a trip to the Springfield Museums where we saw a temporary Lego Castle exhibit.

We also watched fluid in motion, examined an elephant's tooth and sat in a dinosaur footprint.

Ouside in the Dr. Seuss sculpture garden  we wandered through a Seussian maze, another temporary installation.

Sadie met the Lorax.

We thought about the Places We'll Go.

Was this Sally, or a Who from Whoville? I don't rightly know.

Horton from back to front.

Trying on costumes at the George Walter Vincent Smith art museum.

Family self portrait.

And my favorite lamp, part of an exhibition of Tiffany glass at the Fine Art museum (not to be confused with the GWVS museum). Yes, all of these museums are in the same Quadrangle and admission to one garners you admission to all, so we museum hopped taking in just a bit of each.

The next morning I ran a slew of errands and stumbled upon a peach farm stand with the most charming collection of vintage stuff ever. This gas pump was just one of the amazing pieces on display. Oh, and the peaches were amazing, but the apple cider donuts were simply to die for.

Sadie gives GG instructions on how to do a puzzle.

They did it! Good teamwork.

Contemplative moment in the late morning sun.

Sharing a beaded necklace with Daddy is clearly one of the most hilarious things ever.

Saturday we headed over to hang out with Nana and Papa where Sadie bakes a mean batch of chocolate chip cookies.

Examining her toes in the guest room.

Dinner out at Spoleto's (yum).

But of course we forwent dessert in favor of ice cream down the road.

Then we headed back to our home - there's no place like it. Thanks for the week, everyone!
