It's "summer camp" at preschool, which means lots of playing outside. Inevitably Sadie ends up in at least two outfits (not including the bathing suit) due to being sopping wet from the various water play, or totally sandy/muddy from the sand box. She is happy as a clam.

Our big girl sometimes (only sometimes) wants to carry her backpack by herself. Between her lunch and all of the extra clothes we send each day, it's nearly as big as she is.

Miss Sadie is also becoming quite the acrobat. Here she is demonstrating one of her tricks on the jungle gym at school.

Some days (the especially hot ones) the entire school treks a few blocks down the street to the public playground that has some great water elements. Here's Sadie and Inanna enjoying the refreshing splash.

Before summer session began we had a short break. One day I took Sadie and Inanna (along with their teacher Ann) strawberry picking.
The loot was gorgeous and delicious and after enjoying all the eating, I managed to whip up a small batch of jam (only six small jars this year) which we continue to enjoy. I pair mine with some nice brie on a baguette while Sadie prefers chocolate orange butter (from an artisanal butter maker at the farmers' market) and strawberry jam sandwiches.
From the strawberries into the blueberries, raspberries and now peaches and plums (oh my) we have been heartily enjoying the sweet local bounty of the season. Our own tomato plant continues to hold up, all five of the big plump fruits are starting to yellow (they're supposed to be yellow tomatoes). Looking forward to the first of them in another week or two!
