For the first time in more years than I can count (probably ever?) we got to spend the Christmas holiday in one place, no bouncing around between different households and parties and such. Don't get me wrong, we like all the dinners and parties and family times, but it's not always relaxing. This was a true holiday (and chance to test out how retro and amazing everything looks in hipstamatic).

Margaret/Mimi takes decorating very seriously and the house is always a vision of holiday cheer. Many of the ornaments on the tree are from her own childhood, the rest collected along the way.

I found this gingerbread decorating kit at TJ's for 99 cents. Worth every penny.

Sadie delighted in her job distributing the presents, and then gleefully tossed each bit of wrapping paper into the central pile over her shoulder with a shout of "Trash!"

Sadie read this amazing book of illustrated nursery rhymes so many times that she now knows most of them by heart. We had many, MANY opportunities to read while sitting on the potty because we also seized the opportunity of a fixed location with a free washer/dryer to do potty training (done!).

Sadie reads through her new book (by Mimi) with Papi. It's about the Sesame Street gang, and they all had to be on the table to match to the various illustrations.

Other times they could be found all holding hands.
Sadie dressed up as a butterfly/fairy/witch.

And me in a tiara. All costume elements courtesy of Sadie's new dress up box.

But really, how can toys compare to a horsey ride on Papi?
