Halloween 2012 - Grrrr!

Our Halloween celebration started last week at the Agassiz Halloween family breakfast where Sadie debuted her nearly-finished tiger costume (yes, hand-sewn, thank you very much).

At a Halloween festival in Somerville we opted for easy and Sadie wore her zebra bathrobe and striped pants (hey, we're sticking with a striped animal theme).

Today Sadie woke up with a fever. After a lethargic morning the tylenol kicked in and she perked up enough to venture out for a short while of trick-or-treating (we'd been talking it up for weeks). We went to find Jacob at school - that's Sadie roaring.

Then we headed to Crescent Street - the place to be on halloween in Cambridge. All of the houses on the block decorate based on a theme (this year was the circus) and hand carved pumpkins line the street, which is closed off to traffic. We ran into one of Sadie's classmates, Lyra right at the start.

Tigers seemed to be a theme.

But a block away the houses are a bit more creative, and often scary (okay, the zombie thing is a little out of control and we had to skip several houses because they were too disturbing). Here's our favorite - Occupy Traymore.

Despite the few posed pictures above, Sadie mostly stayed in the stroller happy to observe, snack on crackers, and occasionally collect some candy for the folks at my office (because she still doesn't actually know what candy is and I'm going to keep it that way as long as I can, which can't possibly be much longer).

And winning the prize for family with best use of baby as costume accessory:
