Happy halloween! Our little penguin had a big day. After failing to find a town Halloween festival we went to the park instead where two little penguins had a waddling good time.

After a lovely afternoon nap (success!) and a snack we headed out trick or treating. After hitting some well-decorated neighborhood homes we headed over to "Halloween Street" where the whole street gets blocked off and people go pretty over the top decorating (this year's theme was classic horror films). It was a scene and Sadie was a good sport about posing for pictures in front of the madness.

Jaws, of course.

No idea, but everything was white - including the candy!
The grim reaper was draped all the way up on the second floor where one member of the house dropped candy down a pipe so it shot out at the trick-or-treaters.
Alice in wonderland (not exactly classic horror, but certainly mad). The hosts were dressed to the nines as the red queen, the mad hatter, and their girls were Alice and the white rabbit.
Sadie didn't quite know what to make of the actual trick or treating part, but was happy enough to pick out a brightly colored crinkly package and put it into the felt pumpkin. With some guidance she even picked out a few that I like to eat. Despite all of our practice, she wouldn't say "trick or treat" but said "bye bye" and signed thank you at each house.
With a yo ho ho and an ooh la la.

Uh-huh-huh - baguette! Jacob would have been a rebel without a cause, except the lame duck got "cold" and put on a hat and zipped up the leather jacket. Boo!
We met up with Ed Grimley here and her bat boy and banana bat boy (who is busy trying on the frenchman's moustache).
