In case you were wondering what the bandage on Sadie's head was from, our girl suffered from a small, largely superficial but ill-located gash above her eye. The pediatric night nurse at Health Services sent us to Children's Hospital where they took a look, ruled out glue because of the proximity to the eye, and ruled out tape because it didn't fit cleanly together.

So suture they did, which was far, far worse than the bump and many tears ensued. But Sadie was a trooper and when it was all over took the shiny red star balloon from the doctor with nothing more than a skeptical look. She hasn't even fussed with her bandage in the past two days.

Halloween costume plans may now include Frankenstein's monster, to best make use of the stitches.
