Sadie on the High Line

For our first free day in New York, Sadie and I set off downtown for the High Line, an abandoned raised railroad tracks turned into an urban oasis.

The design of the park is amazing and I especially love how the benches grow out of the pathways (they also made perfect toddler slides). Check out the view from 16th street - directly down to the Statue of Liberty. Above center is an art installation piece - when you look through a viewer (as shown) the buildings line up with the spaces to create an abstract art piece.

Sadie was happy in the sun.

But less amused with the sunglasses.

In between turns on the slide; she tried out every bench in this area for slide-ability, and even got another two-year-old boy to do the same.

Lounging after our descent, ready for a yogurt snack before hitting up The Strand.
