Portland factoid #723: Matt Groening, Portland son grew up in the NW Alphabet District where the streets are in, wait for it, alphabetical order. He drew inspiration from the names of the neighborhood streets for many of his ancillary Simpsons characters, such as Ned Flanders, Mayor Quimby and Reverend Lovejoy. I'm also inclined to think that Mr. Burns comes from Burnside.
