Our second day in the city of roses (even the water covers have roses on them) was as spectacular as the first.

While Lisa worked her morning shift Sadie and I met my friend Sam for breakfast. Something about his ear was fascinating.

Upon Lisa's return, she and Sadie played with Sadie's new "toy" phone.
Then we headed out on our grand adventure afternoon.
First stop was Saint Cupcake, a most marvelous shop with the most marvelously delicious mini cupcakes. Sadie slept through most of the visit.

Our platters licked clean.
Sadie awake for our departure.
Onto the Pearl District where we stumbled upon this treasure of a store, called Cargo. It was chock full of imported goodies (and we very nearly got her a sock puppet Jack-in-the-box).

The fencing outside the store.

One of the best window displays, ever.
Lisa and Sadie having a conversation, loudly, on the street.
We made a pilgrimage to Oblation Paper for a studio tour. And look! They found some Albertine Press cards!

Robot monster urban totem pole.
We found a great little paint store and we made a collaborative hot plate for Lisa. We'll pick it up over the weekend and show everyone the final product.
Mommy always has the last laugh!
