This is the backup cake I made for Sadie's party at school. I required a backup cake because every single one of the cupcakes I made refused to be plied in one piece from their baking tray (despite having greased the pans). Instead they became hand-smashed and reshaped cupcake brownies. There were *exactly* enough for all of the kids who can eat them (some glutards and absent folk helped) so the cake was left for the grown ups at school and the office. Still crumbly, but still delicious. A Magnolia recipe.

GG's ten-egg white chocolate chip chiffon cake was a much more successful endeavor.

Said Sadie, later that evening, "Mommy, I want to eat ALL of the cake!"

Loving her new book of mazes from Mimi and Papi.

Getting in some quality dress up time, - she was happy to bring home the box of dress up things. Jacob is still angling to get her some less froufy options (a doctor's coat), I'm thinking a chef hat and apron would be fun, especially with her kitchen. She seems perfectly content with the fairy wings and princess crown.

Pretty day, Sadie proposed a picnic. She and Lisa get the blanket set up while the other ladies make lunch.

Looking especially cute.
