On our first evening - a sunset walk on the beach.

Dinner at Lord's was delicious but their baby-changing station was non-existent. Parents of diapered children beware.

We began Sunday with a belly-to-back rollover by the lovely little lady. To celebrate we went to visit the Wild Orchid Bakery in North Hampton, run by one Erin Gardner (my cousin!)

After another successful rollover, Jacob, Sadie and I took an afternoon outing to the beach where Sadie put her little toes in the ocean. It was a tad cold for her liking...

but the sand was interesting enough.

Monday was absolutely gorgeous, the kind of beach day you dream about; it was sunny and warm but not too hot, with a gentle breeze and nearly no humidity. In other words, a perfect day to set up the umbrella, the baby tent and hunker down with a good book.
If Sadie were a bit older, perhaps she'd have kept up with this little tyke, crawling through the shallow surf (don't worry, his dad is just behind him, out of the picture):

Here's Jacob and Sadie under the tent.

Evening was spent in Kennebunkport eating more fish (every night must include fish when visiting the beach). Here's Jacob deciding where to go next in a very Seussian manner.

The last two days rained and were much less exciting to photograph, though on Tuesday all of the ladies and gent associated with Albertine Press drove up for the day and we barely managed a group beach walk before the rain set in. Grilling happened nevertheless and I made my first, and dare I say, phenomenal haddock.
What a lovely trip, reading, relaxing, playing Bananagrams, hanging with the girl (and the 'rents). We're already looking forward to next year!
