Month 6 Checkup

This morning we had our latest check-in with the doc. It was a pretty standard, quickie visit. New this month was the fundal height measurement - basically a tape measure from the pelvis to the top of the uterus (from the outside, of course). It should roughly correlate to one centimeter per week gestation - and we're spot on.

A follow up to our upcoming glucose screening - my fabulous doctor found a non-carbonated version (which she even tried herself!) and has been carrying it around for a month until I had my appointment. Hooray! It's orange and will still probably taste horrible, but at least I'll be able to swallow it.

Stats:
  • weight gain - four and a half pounds since last month (I'm all over maternity pants)
  • blood pressure - a little low but no comment from the nurse or doc
  • whatever they check for in the pee - normal
  • fundal height - 24cm

We did learn that, barring any problems, there won't be any more ultrasounds in our future except a little portable one at the end to check positioning. So no more picture previews and no further confirmation of the sex. We think we know, but we could end up being as surprised as everyone else!

Until next month.
