Our Sadie has been changing in leaps and bounds - talking, singing, climbing, building, making jokes, pushing buttons (literally and figuratively).

Looking mighty fine in purple stripes, climbing the stairs on her own.
This is new and big. Sadie has had an amazing grasp on her fine motor skills for a long time, drawing pictures, doing puzzles, etc., but the gross motor skills like climbing onto chairs, and up and down stairs were slower in coming. Which was fine with us - less worrying about falling down. So it's exciting to see her finally making these giant steps (literally) by herself.

All of her "soft friends" eating ice cream.
First, Sadie has two sets of Sesame Street friends, which she differentiates by calling them her "bathtub friends" and her "soft friends". They are her constant companions and ever-playmates. Elmo is her personal favorite and I am often charged with holding Big Bird (particularly at bedtime, and while driving). Daddy gets Grover.
Blocks have far surpassed drawing as the favorite activity. We've moved beyond building bathtubs (a spin off of the Ernie bathtub videos on YouTube) and onto building houses for all of her friends. Single blocks end up as chairs, or pillows, or blankets. Or in this case, ice cream (her words, not mine). I love all of the pretend play, and it's accompanied by a steady stream of narration.

Sadie doing Highlights magazine with Grandpa.
We all used to read Highlights magazine so we were delighted to find that they have a toddler-age publication called High Five which we now subscribe to. Sadie's favorite part of the magazines are the hidden pictures (the "finding it" page).

Bubbie and Grandpa came up for a day visit to be with Sadie. It was a gorgeous afternoon and you can see our neighbor's garden behind them just ready to burst with tulips. They all hit up the playground and then the science museum.

Sadie and Grandpa exploring the finer features of his phone.

Playing in the sunny room.

Yukking it up with dad. Nothing like bright morning giggles to start the day.
