The weekend in art

A busy weekend. Friday we went to our very last Sprouts class. The summer schedule changed, so I'm not sure if we'll be doing Explorers or not yet - we'll have to work it out with our baby-help schedule. Anyway, here is Sadie's weekend in art.

Adventures in play dough. After a few minutes Sadie just started collecting as many of the lumps as she could hold in her hands.

Snack time (all the little mouths are full of cookies).

Everyone loves bubbles.

Our city of block towers (and yes, Sadie helped build most of this - I merely suggested which block to put on next).

Many of the Cambridge neighborhood playgrounds have water elements, including ours down the street. On a hot summer day it's a nice way to be outside having fun, especially since Sadie loves playing with water so much now.

Thar she blows!

As our last make up class (from the ones missed during the Stationery Show) we went to Creative Explorations. The instructor had set up a few stations with different art activities and Sadie went right for the crayons and markers.

Discovering a whole new canvas to work on (if she gets tattoos someday, just remember that she started young with the body art).

Sadie isn't the only artist in the house - here are two of Jacob's drawings of our little family:

I'm not convinced my hair looks quite like that, but Sadie seemed to readily identify all the people.

And for Sadie's weekend piece de resistance:

From left to right - a banana, a cat, a fish, a flag and a horse. Above, a blimp.
